I spent about 8 hours on the water Sunday. Fly fishing is one of the most peaceful and relaxing things I can do with my time. We went down to Montauk State Park, which is about a 2 1/2 hour drive from home. It can get to be an expensive hobby, but boy is it fun. We already have plans to make another trip this coming Sunday. This time we’ll be headed to Bennett Spring to tear up some fish. I can’t wait!
In nerdy news, Katie woke up on Sunday(when I was gone fishing) to an electrical burn smell. Turns out, my power supply is dying. The crazy thing is that it still runs just fine, it just stinks up the joint. So, I’ve ordered myself a new PSU. My nerding out at home has been put on hold. Well… I still have my phone, so I guess it was just slowed down a bit.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and enjoys the New Year. Things are always busy during the holidays. I hope I never get too caught up that I forget what Christmas is truly about. There is one thing that really gets on my nerves in our society, and that is the commercialization of holidays. I’m not sure if that is the right way to put it, but it’s like all people think about is gifts and Santa Claus at Christmas. Other holidays are beginning to suffer from this as well, even Easter. We forget about the ultimate gift. There wouldn’t even be a CHRISTmas without it. I refer you to Tristan for more information.

I ordered the Highlander anime last week and it arrived over the weekend. I wouldn’t quite put it up there with VHD and Ninja Scroll, but it was a good movie. The storyline could have been done a little better. It seemed like it was just the same thing over and over(flashbacks of Colin out for vengeance… same fight again and again). As a fan of action movies, I still enjoyed it. Yoshiaki never fails when it comes to artistry and action. I wasn’t able to follow the movie as well as I would have liked with the wife bugging me during half the movie, so I’ll probably be watching it again sometime this week when she is not around. ![]()

Now this should be good. The director of Vampire Hunter D and Ninja Scroll(my 2 favorite animes of all time) brings you the epic Highlander series/movies in anime form.
